Another good performance from the U13's A side as they continued their impressive start to the 2017 season.
Batting 1st on a typical Purton track which gave some variable bounce the lads got full value for their shots and reached 256 for 4 off their 35 overs.
Ollie Gabb was the star man with the bat reaching a classy 81 before being the victim of a vicious ''shooter'' which never left the deck and he was well supported by Ethan Teale 27, Nick Viljoen ( remember the name) 58* and James Pitman 34*.
Purton's reply got off to a flying start with former Swindon lad Anthony D'Sa dispatching any bad ball for 4 but when he was out for 48 the Swindon lads bowled far more tidily restricting their hosts to 186-4 in reply . Special mention to Cameron ''Warney'' Oliver whose 7 overs may have gone for 31 but to watch a young leg spinner bamboozling the opposition is a joy to watch. Also well done to Bruno Tweedale on claiming his 1st wicket for the U13's, well played.
Plenty to work on for the team going forward and they face a much tougher test this Sunday with a trip to South Wilts being next on the agenda.
