What a difference a week makes!
After a poor show with the bat in the first game of the season, the 3's bounced back in style thanks to Paresh Porobo's century. After winning the toss, SCC opted to bat first and amassed 251-6 from there 45 overs. Porobo was the mainstay, carrying his bat to a score of 126no. He was aided by Matty Baker in blunting the new ball attack (Macaulay the pick of the Potterne bowlers with 2-31) and then Jamie Baden (34) and Daniel Harris (21).
Following a delicious Mrs Baden tea (especially good if you have a sweet tooth!), the players took to the field with full stomachs. After 20 overs Swindon found themselves on the way to victory thanks to wickets from Archie Atwell, Lee Baden (who picked one up first ball with an absolute Jaffa - 3-48) and a sharp Jamie Baden/Daniel Harris run out. Mooney and Field then put up some resistance with the bat, but SCC stayed patient and both were picked up by Mayank on his way to 3-23.
After some lusty blows by Merritt made a few people twitchy, young Archie Atwell returned to the attack (3-34) and had his man caught by an off balance Jamie Baden right on the boundary, securing an 83 run victory.
