Now is the perfect time to sign up for 2024

Now is the perfect time to sign up and get involved in cricket in 2024. At Swindon CC we have junior cricket offerings for children (boys and girls) 5 years old and upwards and are recognised at County level for being a leading provider of players for the Wiltshire Talent Pathway. Please check out our offerings by age group below (all hosted at our County Ground site, next to STFC), details on attending a taster session for FREE (excludes All Stars) and how to sign up at the bottom of the page.

All Stars Cricket for 5–8-year-olds: All Stars Cricket provides boys and girls from 5-8 years old with non-stop fun. The activity and game-based programme is suitable for all skill levels and is a great introduction to the sport. It is just £30 and each child gets a personalised t-shirt. Our sessions this year run on Fridays from 10 May until Fri 28 Jun 2024, 17:30 - 18:15 and are led by award winning coach Andy Grayson, who last year was recognised by Wiltshire Cricket for his years of service to the club running our All Stars programme so superbly. Sign up now HERE.

Under 9s: For those transitioning out of All Stars, or new to the sport, we run an Under 9s age group that trains each Friday (from 19th April, weather dependent) until mid-September – 17:30 – 18:45. This age group still trains with soft balls and we progress skills in a fun and enjoyable environment. This age group also plays a number of festivals through the year with an emphasis on participation and enjoyment. In 2024 this SCC setup was also recognised by Wiltshire Cricket and received a special recognition award. Please note we are not running the national Dynamo’s program in 2024, in favour of integrating players of all standards within our existing age group offerings.

Under 11s: The next step on young players journeys, as this is the age group where they transition into hard ball pairs cricket. Sessions catering for all abilities, led by our qualified team of coaches, enable our young players to progress and get the best from their game. They train each Friday (from 19th April, weather dependent) until mid-September – 17:30 – 19:00 and play matches throughout the season within two Under 11 sides that we run.

Under 13s: Our qualified team of coaches aid our players of all standards progress. At this age group teams start to play more matches and they train each Friday (from 19th April, weather dependent) until mid-September – 18:15 – 20:00. We run two sides at this age group.

Under 15s: Players at this age group are challenged to progress their game, enabling them to play within their own age group and transition into one of our five senior Saturday sides. They train each Friday (from 19th April, weather dependent) until mid-September – 18:15 – 20:00.

Under 19s: A number of players within our Under 15 setup and those within our Under 19 setup train alongside the senior teams on Wednesday evenings 18:00 – 20:00. New players of all abilities are always welcome. The U19s also play in the County wide competition, which starts in July to avoid clashes with exam periods.

Girls/Ladies: Girls up to 14 years old train within our mixed age group sessions as detailed above. If you are 14 or over we have our NEW ladies only training group that train each Friday (from 19th April, weather dependent) until mid-September – 18:00 – 19:00/30 ish. This year they will also play in some ‘soft’ ball matches.
