Raghav Jaiswal on the Chance to Shine Youth Advisory Board

Daniel Harris5 Aug - 09:34

Congratulations Raghav!

Chance to Shine is a charity dedicated to giving children across the UK the opportunity to play, learn, and grow through cricket. By working with schools and communities, it helps young people develop key life skills while making the sport more accessible to those who might not otherwise have the chance to play.

Swindon Cricket Club is proud to celebrate one of our own, Raghav Jaiswal, who earlier this year was selected to join the Chance to Shine Youth Advisory Board—a fantastic opportunity to help shape the future of cricket for young people across the country.

The opportunity was recommended by the clubs committee, who encouraged the application. The selection process included an application followed by an interview, exploring the impact cricket has had Raghav's life and how it can inspire underprivileged children.

Two weeks after the interview, the exciting news arrived—the application was successful! The first meeting took place at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground, where new board members were introduced to the charity’s operations and the ways they could contribute to increasing its impact. Discussions focused on real-life challenges faced by clubs and programs across the country, with board members brainstorming solutions that were then forwarded to key decision-makers.

Looking ahead, the board will hold online meetings where members will be assigned specific roles and areas of involvement within the charity’s programs. This will provide an opportunity to work directly on initiatives that bring cricket to more young people and help shape the future of the sport.

Swindon Cricket Club is incredibly proud to have representation on the Chance to Shine Youth Advisory Board and looks forward to seeing the positive impact that will come from this involvement. We can’t wait to see how our member helps make a difference!
