Thanks to all that supported Pink Saturday

Saturday saw the first ever Swindon CC ‘Pink Day’ thanks to the great efforts of Karen Millar and Phoebe Scott-Browne. These days have been taking place through the county raising funds for the ‘Against Breast Cancer’ charity, but Swindon CC also wished to support Prospect Hospice in memory of Karen’s sister, Mandy, who passed away in February this year after a short battle with illness.

The day saw the club turn pink and revelers enjoying the summer sun, cricket and fundraising activities. The tombola stall was particularly popular, as were the cricket teas, car wash, BBQ and raffle. There are still some unclaimed raffle prizes at the club, so keep hold of your tickets to claim them this weekend.

The success of the tombola and raffle were down to the support of club members, the Millar’s family and friends and the following local businesses that all supported the day with prize donations. Thank you to all of you.

Aqua G Hairdressers - Arkells Brewery - Blunsdon House Hotel - Boots Greenbridge – Crumps Butchers Wootton Bassett - Cup Cakes Galore - Deers Leap Penhill - Domino's Pizza - KP Cakes - L & S Autos - Mecca Bingo - Morrisons Eldene - My 1st Pony Experience - Planet Nails - Sorrell Home & Gifts Wootton Bassett - Sun Inn PH Coate Water - Superbowl - Swindon Town Football Club - Tesco’s Ocotal Way - The Ridge West Swindon - Waitrose Wichelstowe - White Hart PH Stratton - White Hart PH Wroughton

In total just over £460 was raised through the fundraising activities and member donations, but we are pleased to say Swindon CC will round this up to £500, which will be split equally between the two charities. Thanks to all that supported the event and these great charities – we hope to see you again in 2020 for an equally successful Pink Day.
