A fantastic start to the year to announce that we will be hosting Wiltshire CCC v Glamorgan CCC in the annual NCCA showcase fixture on Sunday 21st July 2024.
The NCCA Showcase games are an initiative that started in 2021. The games represent a fantastic opportunity for the National Counties to test themselves against the best players in the country. They are also an opportunity to showcase the huge pool of talent within the National Counties, as well as shine a light on the huge amounts of effort that are put in to recreational cricket across the UK. With all games taking place across a fixed window it presents an opportunity for a light to be shone on the level of Cricket immediately below the professional game.
On launching the fixture, Wiltshire cricket wrote some kind words about the club:
"A return of National Counties standard Cricket to Swindon CC is just reward for the fantastic work that the club has done in recent years, and for the way in which Swindon CC have supported Wiltshire Cricket more broadly; With regards junior cricket the club has become one of the leading providers of players for the Wiltshire Talent Pathway. The club has also supported broader initiatives such as hosting All Stars and Dynamos camps, hosting multiple primary school competitions, hosting school SEND competitions, and hosting our weekly Lord's Taverner Super 1s hubs during the summer."
In the coming months, Wiltshire Cricket will be working closely with us and we will release more details and opportunities to support this great day as they become available.
