During our 175th year, a book documenting the story of Swindon Cricket Club and celebrating our 175th anniversary year has been compiled. We have been incredibly lucky that local historian Dick Mattick has taken on this mammoth task, spending countless hours sifting through old records, studying photographs, speaking to current and past members and researching the characters of the clubs past.

Last week I was given a sneak peek of the book and I was amazed at not only the content, but also the design and professional feel of it. This has been thanks to Lance Blizzard, who has also worked tirelessly to get the book to publication.

The book is now in its last stages of tinkering before a publication launch event later this year (date to be announced shortly).
