I'm not sure if you have noticed, but it is wet out there. Wetter than the proverbial otters pocket. The wet weather is making groundsman Kevin's job extremely difficult at the moment, particularly as we still have areas of standing water and more rain forecast. This has resulted in this weekends pre-season inter club fixture being cancelled. The target is now to try and get some game time in the following weekend (14th/15th) where we have fixtures pencilled in for both the Saturday and Sunday.

The wet weather has also meant we have sought alternative arrangements to get us some pre-season training in. Alex Kill has kindly booked us in for four sessions at the SwinDOME at Swindon Supermarine F.C, Swindon’s first all purpose indoor facility. This will allow us to start doing some 'proper' fielding without the risk of getting muddier than a wallowing pig. Sessions are on Tuesdays, starting on April 10th, 7-8pm, £4 per person. Please make every effort to attend. Trainers ONLY. No spikes. Please keep your eyes on the whatsapp groups/social media for when we can start to train outdoors at the County Ground.

Wet weather also impacted our cricket force day to get the club ready for the coming season. If you did not attend on that day please could you speak to Alex, Dan Harris or Kev asap and volunteer a bit of your time to crack on with some of the remaining tasks.
