The club has received sad news that former groundsman John Lawrence has passed away. John is remembered fondly by the older club members as a lovely man and friend to everyone that knew him. John in recent years had still be attending the annual Preseidents match versus Arkells to keep in touch with the club and old friends.

John had to give up as groundsman some years ago, and moved to Weston to be near his daughter and her family while battling leukemia. The club wishes to pass on its condolences to John's family and friends at this time.

If club members would like to attend, Johns cremation is taking place Thursday 17th January at 11am at the new Bassett crematorium. The wake will follow at Sally Pussey Inn.
