Fortnightly round-up two is already upon us!

What has the club been up to......

During the last two weeks:
• Three committee members (Tom, Dan & Kevin) attended the Wiltshire Cricket Club Forum – this gave us a great insight into current and future initiatives we will continue (or be looking to start) at the club – keep your eyes peeled!
• Daniel Harris attended the Swindon Town Football in the Community ground cutting ceremony on behalf of the club. This will lead to a new all-weather football facility and building behind our ground, which will undoubtedly help to improve the sports quadrant we form part of. Massive congratulations to them on a great achievement.
• Following the launch of 2019 memberships we have already began to receive payments and forms back across the age groups. Thanks to those that have paid. To those that haven’t please see all details here: http://www.swindoncricketclub.co.uk/news/2019-memberships-are-now-due-2386276.html
• The 175 celebration event sub-committee met to finalise the shape of our celebration event – more details soon.
• The 175 Fun Run Challenge (Sunday 24th March 2019) sponsorship forms have started to be distributed – who will raise the most money and win the free kit?
• Players across all of the age groups are now training in preparation for the coming season – all details are on the club website.
• Members of the committee have been attending as many sessions as possible to speak to parents – this is something we are keen to continue through 2019. If you see us, please come and have a chat – we want to know what you want to see from your club.
• Pre-season ground preparation is continuing, with Kevin mowing, spiking, fertilising, painting, cleaning and servicing equipment as the weather allows. It will now be interesting to see what the ground looks like after today’s snowfall!
• Our contractor has also been working over the winter on the 4th team pitch at Chestnut Springs, Lydiard Millicent. He is reporting good progress.
• The club received a generous donation from Belron UK (most of you will know them as Autoglass). Thanks to Nathan Iles for sorting this. Could your employer help the club via a donation or sponsorship of any shape or size? If so, please contact the club committee.

Upcoming:
• Committee meeting next week – please contact us if there is anything you feel should be raised.
• Allstars (children aged 5-8) will be returning to Swindon CC in 2019. More details to follow when dates/times etc are finalised.
